Whodoku is made by Manicgrin Media Ltd. The iOS app does not collect data. This page covers the website at whodoku.net.
Your board size, music, storm, sound effects, “Automatically mark Xs”, patterned rooms, and whether you have seen how to play are stored in your browser’s local storage. That never leaves your device.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This includes anonymised data about pages visited, time spent, and device type. It uses cookies. It does not tell us your name or email, and we do not use it for advertising.
If the puzzle pool is running, we keep anonymous houses (room layouts) generated in the browser or uploaded by the iOS app, and anonymous completion times: how long a case took, and which house it was. No name, email, or account is required. We do not show you a timer.
During a visit we remember the houses you have already been given, in a session cookie, so “New puzzle” does not hand you the same pre-generated house again. That list is forgotten when you close the browser. We do not keep a long-term history of which houses you have played. A hashed form of IP address may be stored with an uploaded house so we can slow down spam. We cannot turn that hash back into your address.
We do not sell data, run ads, or build a profile of you.
A session cookie keeps track of houses already shown in this visit. Google Analytics also sets cookies to measure site use. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. Game preferences in local storage are separate, and stay on your device.
